“The Immigrant”
My grandmother sent me here to the United States from my native
El Salvador exactly on December 30th 1999 - at the turn of the century.
Hesitantly I accepted, but I quickly realized the stark difference between my home and my new reality.
I quickly became homesick for nearly 10 years, I missed her, my dog, my home, my town. I was separated from everything and everyone I ever grew up with, and I have been alone here ever since the age of 18 years old.
With this I aim to remember her and honor her, and hope to make her proud one day with my being here in the United States with my career, and now - as a father of two.
Created with 8 pieces of Art Software and 3 different A.I technologies - The Immigrant is sort of a Self-Portrait, or as close as I will ever get to make one.
